Camilo Villegas, who enjoyed back-to-back victories in September's BMW Championship and Tour Championship to claim second place in the US PGA Tour's FedEx Cup Series, will look to continue his recent run of fine form in Shanghai. Villegas, the world No 7 from Colombia, who also finished third at the AT&T Classic and Deutsche Bank Championship while claiming a fourth-place finish at the US PGA Championship, ended in 24th spot at last month's Castello Masters in Spain.
And after opting for an affiliate membership of The European Tour in 2009, Villegas will hope to transfer his form to Europe's new Race to Dubai, "I am very proud of the way I finished 2008. Obviously I worked very hard to reach several goals, winning the Tour Championship was unbelievable," said Villegas. "The goals will keep coming and getting more challenging, but at the end of the day, I've always said that if I can wake up in the morning, give it my best and have a great attitude, the rest of it is going to take care of itself.
"I'm very excited by joining the European Tour. It would be nice to see more guys from the US come and play." * With Agencies
