On Friday evening, Al Hilal and Al Merreikh contested the Sudan Super Cup at Al Jazira's Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
It was Al Hilal who emerged victorious, but their 2-1 win was achieved in the most dramatic - and dare we say it, comical - of circumstances.
With the match level at 1-1, and having entered the sixth minute of injury time, a Hilal player clips a non-threatening cross into the Merreikh area. Under no pressure from any Hilal players, the Merreikh defender completely misjudges his header, steering the ball into the top corner of his own net to gift Hilal the win and the trophy.
