England international left-back Kieran Gibbs has joined West Bromwich Albion from Arsenal on a four-year contract, his new club announced on Wednesday.
West Brom did not reveal how much they paid for the 27-year-old, but British media reports put the fee at around £7 million (Dh33m).
Gibbs came through the youth ranks at Arsenal, but having played regularly between 2012 and 2015, he subsequently found himself on the fringes of the first team.
"I watched the boys in the first few games of the season and they've got a lot of energy," Gibbs said in comments published on the West Brom website.
"They've made some good signings and I feel this is a good move for me."
Gibbs, who won the last of his 10 England caps in 2015, follows Jay Rodriguez, Ahmed Hegazi, Gareth Barry, Yuning Zhang and Oliver Burke in signing for West Brom during the transfer window.
"Kieran's a good age and has made over 200 appearances for Arsenal, represented his country and has Premier League and Champions League experience," said West Brom manager Tony Pulis.
"To add these qualities to our squad is exactly what we're looking for."
Gibbs also posted a personal message on Twitter, describing his time at Arsenal as "a dream" and thanking manager Arsene Wenger, the staff, his team-mates and the club's fans.
Germany's World Cup winner Benedikt Hoewedes is set to join Italian champions Juventus on Wednesday in a hastily arranged transfer after being stripped of the captaincy at Schalke.
Juventus confirmed via the club's official Twitter account that Hoewedes was in Turin for a medical check.
According to German media reports, the 29-year-old centre back is set to sign a one-year loan deal, which will cost Juventus €4 million (Dh18m), with an option to buy for €14m if the transfer works out.
After 10 years and 240 appearances for the Gelsenkirchen-based club, Hoewedes' departure is extremely hasty.
Having been Schalke's club captain since 2011, Hoewedes was suddenly stripped of the captaincy by new manager Domenico Tedesco and left on the bench for their first two league games this season.
Tedesco, 31, praised Hoewedes for his professional attitude, but it was clear the pair did not see eye-to-eye given their respective body language on the Schalke bench.
The German club could no longer guarantee the first-team football to ensure he is part of the Germany squad for next year's World Cup.
Hoewedes was one of the few to play every minute of Germany's seven matches on their way to winning the title in Brazil in 2014.

There was movement in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund announcing the signing of German youth international Jeremy Toljan on a five-year deal from Hoffenheim as they look to strengthen their backline.
The 23-year-old, a recent European Under 21 Championship winner who also won a silver medal with Germany at the 2016 Olympic Games, made his league debut at Hoffenheim in 2013.
"Jeremy can slot in on both the left and right of defence," Dortmund sports director Michael Zorc said in a statement.
"He was one of the cornerstones of the side that secured the title for Germany at the U21 European Championship this summer. He is a player with great potential."
Dortmund, who will compete in the Uefa Champions League this season, also extended the contract of 19-year-old defender Felix Passlack until 2021 but have sent him out on a two-year loan deal at Hoffenheim to gain more match practice.
He will return in 2019.
Danny Drinkwater has submitted a transfer request to Leicester City, according to Press Association Sport.
The midfielder, 27, is a transfer target for Chelsea amid manager Antonio Conte's pursuit of a replacement for Nemanja Matic.
Last summer he signed a new contract to commit his future to the club until 2021, but having acted could yet force a departure before Thursday's conclusion of the summer transfer window.
As well as a return to Champions League football, a potential transfer to Chelsea would reunite Drinkwater with N'Golo Kante, his central midfield partner when Leicester won the Premier League title in 2016.
The present champions have already recruited Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco, but their pursuit of the England international follows the departure of Nathaniel Chalobah to Watford and Ruben Loftus-Cheek's loan to Crystal Palace.
Drinkwater joined Leicester from Manchester United in 2012, and has since played for England three times.
