Serge Aurier - 4. Gave away a needless penalty on the stroke of half time by barreling into the back of Fofana. The Ivorian was poor defensively and in possession and was hooked on 64 minutes. Reuters

Toby Alderweireld - 5. Tottenham's usually rock-solid Belgian centre-back looked anything but up against livewire Vardy. An own goal summed up a poor defensive display all round. EPA

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg - 7. Few teams have got the better of the Dane since he joined Tottenham but Maddison and Albrighton continuously got in behind the Spurs midfield. Reuters

Tanguy Ndombele - 4. Looked like he picked up an injury during the opening exchanges and was a non-factor thereafter. Replaced at half time. AFP

Giovani Lo Celso - 6. Made a good intervention to thwart a Leicester attack and showed some crisp passing before being replaced minutes into the second half. EPA

Son Heung-min - 5. The South Korean found himself on set-piece duty in the first half. Should have taken an early opportunity that fell his way instead of trying to pick out a teammate. Reuters

Harry Kane - 5. Got his timing all wrong with a first-half header and you knew it wasn't going to be his night when his quick throw-in inadvertently set up a chance for Leicester. Reuters

SUB: Gareth Bale (Ndombele) - 5. Kept possession well enough but lacked the spark Spurs so desperately needed in the second half. Reuters

SUB: Lucas Moura (Lo Celso) - 5. Hard to be overly critical of Tottenham's hardest-working forward but he offered no threat against Leicester despite playing the majority of the second half. AFP

SUB: Harry Winks (Aurier) - 4. Told his manager he needs to be playing more. The Spurs midfielder may get his wish after this sub-standard display by those ahead of him. Reuters

LEICESTER RATINGS: Kasper Schmeichel - 7. Held a Kane pile-driver and showed superb reflexes to deny Son from close range. Reuters

James Justin - 7. The 22-year-old looked equally at ease in both full-back positions and looked to support his teammates in attack. AFP

Wesley Fofana - 7. Looked as surprised as anyone when Aurier clattered him so clumsily on the edge of the box to win Leicester's penalty. The Frenchman, 20, looks as though he has played at this level for years. AFP

Jonny Evans - 7. At 32 the Northern Irishman is the elder statesman of this Leicester defence. Was calm and assured throughout. Reuters

Timothy Castagne - 6. Solid defensively but the Italian was subdued in attack before being replaced just before the hour. EPA

Youri Tielemans - 7. Seems to glide across the pitch but wasted a golden opportunity to get his name on the scoresheet in the second half. Reuters

Wilfred Ndidi - 7. Made more than his fair share of tackles and was happy to sit and protect while others orchestrated attacks ahead of him. AFP

Marc Albrighton - 8. Gave the Spurs defence a torrid time and produced a wonderfully flighted cross for Leicester's second. Can count himself fortunate for only being shown a yellow card for a cynical foul on Kane. Reuters

Harvey Barnes - 7. A positive performance on the left of the Foxes midfield and always looked capable of causing Aurier problems. Reuters

Jamie Vardy - 8. Rifled home from the penalty spot and climbed high to head against the unfortunate Alderweireld for the second. The sight of their star man trudging off towards the end will be a concern with the Christmas fixtures fast approaching. AFP

Leicester City produced an impressive performance to secure a 2-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday.

Striker Jamie Vardy scored the opening goal and had a hand in the other against a toothless home side.

The former England international netted a penalty on the stroke of half time and his 59th-minute header led to Toby Alderweireld's own goal, lifting Leicester two places up to second on 27 points from 14 games, four behind champions Liverpool.

Tottenham dropped two places to fourth after a second successive defeat, having suffered a 2-1 loss at Liverpool on Wednesday.
