Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed Paul Pogba will be out of action for a "few weeks" after suffering a thigh injury during the 3-3 draw with Everton.
The 27-year-old midfielder was forced off towards the end of the first half of Saturday's match, just days after being named the club's player of the month for January.
Pogba's absence will be a blow to United as they fight to stay within reach of Premier League leaders Manchester City and with FA Cup and Europa League matches to come.
The French World Cup winner was enjoying a resurgence in form but Solskjaer said he did not want to take risks with his player.
"It's an injury that will take a few weeks to heal," he told MUTV.
"He's just started his recovery, working with the medical staff and we'll get him back as soon and as safely as we can.
"Of course, Paul has been very important for us and we're not going to take any risks. [So it is] a few weeks definitely."
The first match Pogba will miss is Tuesday's FA Cup fifth-round match against West Ham.

Early charge forward and keen to carry the ball into the Everton half as United dominated against a team who’d won their previous four away games – though didn’t create too many chances. Fine against Calvert-Lewin in first half but then weak on Everton’s first goal and found wanting on Everton’s second as his defence failed to clear their lines and gave James Rodriguez space to shoot. Mason Holgate, 5 - It’s never an easy job defending at Old Trafford and proved to be the case for Holgate who showed some early nerves with a sliced clearance that dropped kindly for Cavani, while Marcus Rashford always had his number on a tough night for full-back. AFP -
