  LEEDS UNITED RATINGS: Illan Meslier 7 – Pulled off a number of fine stops, most notably from Daniel Podence. Looked composed and assured between the sticks for Leeds. EPA

  Kalvin Phillips 6 – In the first half, he ran the show for Leeds. However, the 24-year-old endured a nightmare second period, picking up a yellow card, before turning Raul Jimenez’ shot into his own net. EPA

  Jack Harrison 7 – Excellent end product as always, with his pinpoint crosses often squandered by the forwards. Continues to impress from the left. EPA

  Mateusz Klich 6 – Started well in the middle for Leeds, but as the game wore on – and as Wolves established their dominance - his impact began to wane. AFP

  WOLVES RATINGS: Rui Patricio 7 – Had very few saves of note to make, but when he was called into action, the Portuguese stopper looked very comfortable. Reuters

  Willy Boly 7 – Made a vital late block to deny Pablo Hernandez – one of many important interventions. He was a rock alongside Coady in the heart of the away sides’ defence. EPA

  Max Kilman 8 – A superb outing from the 23-year-old, who consistently denied Helder Costa the space that he craved. Didn’t look at all out of his depth. EPA

  Nelson Semedo 5 – Struggled massively at times, particularly up against the ever-threatening Jack Harrison. Positionally, the former Barcelona man seemingly has a lot to learn. AFP

  Leander Dendoncker 7 – Shielded the back three tremendously well as the most withdrawn of Wolves’ midfielders. Worked diligently at the death the deny Leeds a path back into the game. EPA

  Pedro Neto 7 – Looked to be the away side's biggest threat in the first half, with a number of his powerful runs setting off alarm bells in the Leeds backline. Was replaced late on, after appearing to run out of steam. AFP

A Raul Jimenez shot that took a heavy deflection off the head of Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips gave Wolverhampton Wanderers a hard-fought 1-0 away win in the Premier League on Monday.

Leeds dominated possession in the opening half, firing crosses into the box at a variety of angles and threatening from set pieces without creating much in the way of clear-cut chances.

Wolves improved greatly in the second half and had a Romain Saiss goal ruled out for offside before Jimenez drifted in from the right and cut back to shoot. Phillips attempted to head clear, but only succeeded in wrong-footing his goalkeeper.

The narrow victory put Wolves sixth on nine points from five games, behind Leicester City and Arsenal on goal difference. Newly-promoted Leeds are 10th with seven points.
