Goalkeeper: Jonas Lossl (Huddersfield) A fine debut from the Danish goalkeeper, who made a string of saves to keep a clean sheet in a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace.

Right-back: Kyle Walker-Peters (Tottenham Hotspur) Kyle Walker was excellent for Manchester City. Kyle Walker-Peters showed there is life after him for Spurs on an auspicious bow.

Centre-back: Ahmed Hegazi (West Bromwich Albion) A fine way to start for Albion's borrowed Egyptian as he shut out Bournemouth and grabbed the winner.
Centre-back: Phil Jagielka (Everton) Overshadowed by Wayne Rooney but another veteran played his part in ensuring Everton got off to a winning start against Stoke.

Left-back: Stephen Ward (Burnley) Scored probably the goal of his life in what may be the result of the season, Burnley's shock win over Chelsea.

Right midfield: Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) Excellent in pre-season and continued that form to open his Liverpool account in the thrilling 3-3 draw against Watford.

Centre midfield: Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal) Took his equaliser in superb fashion as the substitute helped change a remarkable opening game against Leicester.

Centre midfield: Nemanja Matic (Manchester United) Romelu Lukaku got two goals but another summer signing was hugely influential in the 4-0 rout of West Ham.
Matic on good start

Left midfield: David Silva (Manchester City) Unlocked Brighton's obdurate defence with a classy pass for Sergio Aguero to break the deadlock against the promoted club.

Striker: Steve Mounie (Huddersfield) What a start. Huddersfield's £11 million record buy scored twice against Palace to take them (briefly) top of the league.
Striker: Sam Vokes (Burnley) David Luiz could not handle the Welshman as he scored twice, Burnley got three goals and the champions made a terrible start.
