Mohamed Salah after Liverpool's Champions League miracle: 'Did you book a holiday?'

He may not have been on the pitch, but Mohamed Salah was still very much part of Liverpool's special night as they overcame Barcelona 4-0 to reach the Champions League final.

The Egyptian had to watch from the sidelines as he was suffering from concussion, but as soon as the final whistle went at Anfield he was straight into the celebrations.

As his teammates made their way back to the dressing room, Salah joined them to soak up the atmosphere and congratulate their incredible achievement, having been 3-0 down from the first leg.

Salah sat down next to James Milner and, trying to make himself heard above the music, asked him: "Did you plan to go on holiday?", before shrugging in apparent disbelief in what he had witnessed over the course of the previous two hours. See the video in the tweet below.

The Champions League final takes place in Madrid on June 1, and Liverpool's players could be forgiven for having made early plans to be on vacation at that time with the odds so heavily stacked against them in the semi-final second leg.

They will face either Tottenham Hotspur or Ajax, who play tonight with the Dutch side leading 1-0.

Salah however was refusing to throw in the towel prior to last night's encounter, as he wore a t-shirt emblazoned with the slogan "never give up".

Liverpool's final league match of the season is on Sunday when they face Wolves at Anfield - a clash they likely need to win to stop Manchester City claiming the title.
