Find out what caught our eye this week:
Best flirting – Jose Mourinho and Manchester United: They wanted him once and then they did not want him. Now they might want him again. No sooner had Mourinho left Chelsea than the fluttering of eyelashes with Old Trafford began. There has been contact, there has not – it is shaping up like a high school romance. Just get on with it guys.
Best quote – Paco Jemez: "We feel humiliated and abused." Well, quite. If you had seen your side take a lead against Real Madrid and then end up losing 10-2, you might feel the same. It was a ridiculous result and will bring more scrutiny on the growing inequality in Spain's top flight. A point the Rayo Vallecano manager also noted: "This doesn't benefit Madrid, or us or Spanish football."
Best recruitment – The Pakistan Super League: In a nice twist away from tradition, the new Twenty20 tournament decided it would allocate players to its five franchises through a player draft, based along the lines of US sport. It worked a treat too, generating plenty of attention and attracting some big names. The best bit though was that the five teams look pretty evenly matched, the sole purpose of the draft.
Best old man – Kobe Bryant: A sore shoulder, 37 years old, 20 years of intense wear and tear on his body, in his last season and yet Bryant gave us a little reminder that he is still Kobe Bryant. On Tuesday, Bryant scored 31 points to help the Los Angeles Lakers turn around a 21-point deficit to beat the Denver Nuggets 111-107. It has not changed his mind about retirement though.
Best shot – Barack Obama: You would think that being the world's most powerful man was enough for President Obama. Evidently not, for he is a fiendish golfer, too. On a break in Hawaii this week, the President (a southpaw) nailed a 40-foot chip shot, celebrating with a doff of the cap to cheering crowds. Life is not fair.
