Manchester United enjoy another road trip, Chelsea pile on the misery for Arsenal: Premier League predictions

Some huge issues to be sorted over the festive period

SATURDAY: Leicester City v Manchester United (4.30pm) - Second v third, with Manchester United having won four and drawn one of their last five in the Premier League. Should be a cracker. PREDICTION: Leicester 1 Manchester United 2. EPA

Fulham v Southampton (7pm) - Three draws on the trot for Fulham, including against Liverpool, shows they are becoming hard to beat. This could be No 4. PREDICTION: Fulham 1 Southampton 1. AP

Arsenal v Chelsea (9.30pm) - Hammered at home by Manchester City in the League Cup in midweek, after losing at Everton last weekend. The pressure is mounting on Mikel Arteta. PREDICTION: Arsenal 1 Chelsea 3. EPA

Manchester City v Newcastle (midnight) - After their midweek League Cup exit at Championship side Brentford, the last game Newcastle probably wanted was a trip to in-form Manchester City. PREDICTION: Manchester City 4 Newcastle 0. Getty

Sheffield United v Everton (midnight) - Everton are right back on track after a wobbly few weeks, and sit in fourth spot. Things could get even better here. PREDICTION: Sheffield United 0 Everton 2. Getty

SUNDAY: Leeds v Burnley (4pm) - Leeds are the entertainers this season, though it probably didn't feel like that when losing 6-2 at Manchester United last time out. This should get them back on track. PREDICTION: Leeds 3 Burnley 2. Reuters

West Ham v Brighton (6.15pm) - Brighton haven't won since surprising Aston Villa 2-1 on November 21, and it's starting to look very bleak for boss Graham Potter. PREDICTION: West Ham 3 Brighton 1. EPA

Liverpool v West Bromwich Albion (8.30pm) - Back on top and scoring for fun, 2020 has turned out to be a great year on the pitch for Liverpool. PREDICTION: Liverpool 4 West Brom 0. AFP

Wolves v Tottenham (11.15pm) - No Premier League wins in three for Jose Mourinho's Tottenham, and he's getting surly. This will be no easier. PREDICTION: Wolves 2 Tottenham 1. EPA

Premier League action comes thick and fast in this most challenging of festive periods and will likely see some significant moves at the top and the bottom.

Liverpool are already out in front and the champions will be very hard to stop now they have the momentum.

Manchester United are one side who are still within range of the leaders, and they kick off the action in the early game on Saturday at Leicester City, having won all their away matches in the league so far.

Aston Villa host Crystal Palace and Southampton go to Fulham before three evening fixtures see troubled Arsenal against Chelsea, Newcastle at Manchester City and Sheffield United against Everton.

Sunday's line up starts with Leeds v Burnley, then it's West Ham at home to Brighton, Liverpool hosting West Bromwich Albion and finally Tottenham travel to Wolves.
