Europa League final: Eden Hazard aims for one 'last trophy' with Chelsea

Eden Hazard has said winning the Europa League would be a fitting end to his Chelsea career as the Belgian forward gave his biggest hint yet that he will be leaving the club this summer.

Hazard is set to enter the final year of his contract at Chelsea, and with Real Madrid in talks to take him to the Bernabeu, the Premier League club are resigned to negotiating a deal to avoid losing their star player on a free next year.

While a transfer is yet to be finalised, it appears more likely than ever that Wednesday's Europa League final against rivals Arsenal will be Hazard's last game in a Chelsea shirt.

The 28-year-old Belgium international joined the club in 2012 and has won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, a League Cup and the 203 Europa League.

"That would be good, that would be a nice last trophy," Hazard told reporters on Monday. "If it is my last game, I hope to bring the trophy."

"It is a European competition, so for me, for the club, for the manager, for the fans, it is something important.

"When you play a final, it does not matter whether it is the Champions League, Europa League or League Cup, you just want to win, you just want to bring the trophy home and celebrate that."

Hazard has again been Chelsea's best player this season, scoring 16 goals and created another 15 in the Premier League as the Blues finished third in the table and said he was fully focused on the final despite the speculation over his future.

"At the moment, nothing has happened, so I can't say anything. It's in the hands of the clubs," he said. "But I can put it aside. I have done it during a full season right now, and I have played reasonably well.

"So I stay in that mode: just thinking about football. After the final, we will see what happens."
