Arsenal's first-team squad returned to their London Colney training base on Wednesday as Mikel Arteta's squad continues its preparations in anticipation of resuming their season.

Among the players photographed arriving by car for training were Brazil defender David Luiz, Germany World Cup winner Shkodran Mustafi and Bosnian wing-back Sead Kolasinac.

The move comes following a vote to allow Premier League clubs to return to training under strict guidelines with the country still gripped by the Covid-19 outbreak.

England's top-flight was shut down in early March along with most European leagues in a bid to stem the coronavirus pandemic.

As part of Project Restart, players must maintain social distancing at all times, the league said, with contact training not permitted at this stage.

Players will be asked to use an app on a daily basis to record any symptoms.
