Abu Dhabi's Baniyas go into the third week of the new season as Arabian Gulf League leaders after rallying from a goal down to beat Fujairah 3-1.

It was the second win of the season for Baniyas, helped by a double from on-loan Brazilian Joao Pedro.

Sharjah showed remarkable character to come from behind for the second time in two games, Shahin Abdulrahman netting the winner with a minute left to grab three points in a 2-1 victory over Al Wahda.

Wahda, who were so impressive in their 6-0 rout over Hatta in the opening round, took the lead courtesy of their Slovenian forward Tim Matavz on the half-hour.

Brazilian Welliton Soares levelled on 68 minutes before Abdulrahman headed the winner from a corner from Caio Fernandes.

Shabab Al Ahli salvaged a 1-1 draw against Al Ain in the feature match of the second week at the Rashid stadium.

Kodjo Laba headed Bandar Al Ahbabi’s cross to give the visitors a 55th minute lead before UAE international Yousef Jaber scored a similar goal from a Aziz Ganiev high ball on 75 minutes.

In the other games, Al Wasl bounced back to earn a 4-2 win over Hatta, Al Nasr edged out Khorfakkan 1-0, Kalba struck a late goal to clinch a 1-0 result over Ajman and Al Jazira were held 1-1 by Al Dhafra at the Mohamed bin Zayed stadium.
