Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale continued their fine goal-scoring starts to the season by leading Real Madrid to a comfortable 4-1 win over Leganes on Saturday.

Welsh forward Bale scored the opener in the 17th minute, and while Leganes levelled through a Guido Carrillo penalty seven minutes later, Madrid seized control after Benzema's second half double and a Ramos spot-kick.

The victory at the Bernabeu extended Madrid's perfect start to the Primera Liga season to three wins, and making light of Cristiano Ronaldo's departure to Juventus.

Benzema has now scored four goals this season, while Bale has registered three with one assist.

Madrid lead the standings with nine points and 10 goals, although champions Barcelona can match that perfect start when they host top flight debutants Huesca on Sunday.

"We are getting to know each other better, we are training more and we have managed to get the team playing like a true team," said Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui, who replaced Zinedine Zidane in the summer.

"They understand what is being asked of them and they have the ability to make it happen."
