Sergio Aguero netted his 13th hat-trick for Manchester City as the champions thrashed Huddersfield Town 6-1 and move top of the Premier League. After Huddersfield rode their luck for 25 minutes, goalkeeper Ederson found Aguero with a perfect through ball and the Argentine kept his cool to finish cleverly. Unusually, coach Pep Guardiola opted to start Gabriel Jesus alongside Aguero. The Brazilian also scored after exchanging passes with Benjamin Mendy and firing past Ben Hamer, who then fumbled a cross to gift Aguero his second and City's third in a blistering 10-minute spell before half-time. Although Jon Stankovic pulled a goal back before the interval, there was no respite as David Silva marked his 250th Premier League game with a perfect free kick. Aguero flicked home his third on 75 minutes and Terence Kongolo put through his own net late on - the ninth goal Huddersfield have conceded in two games.

Second half strikes from captain Troy Deeney and Will Hughes gave Watford an impressive 3-1 win at Burnley. Former Burnley forward Andre Gray opened the scoring in the third minute with a superbly taken volley from a fine Deeney cross from the right flank. Three minutes later, though, Burnley got back on level terms when James Tarkowski rose well at the back post to head in a Johann Berg Gudmundsson corner. After an evenly balanced and entertaining first half, Watford hit Burnley, who have now gone seven league games without a win, twice after the break. Deeney drove home in the 48th minute after being found in the box by Abdoulaye Doucoure then a terrible giveaway by Burnley defender Matt Lowton to Will Hughes resulted in the Watford midfielder firing past Joe Hart with a brilliant left-foot strike.

Chelsea beat Arsenal 3-2 in a pulsating London derby with defender Marcos Alonso scoring an 81st-minute winner after the Gunners had fought back from an early 2-0 deficit. In a hectic first half, Chelsea went ahead in the ninth minute when Pedro buried a cross by Alonso. Striker Alvaro Morata scored only his second league goal of 2018, fed by a through ball from Cesar Azpilicueta 11 minutes later. Arsenal clawed their way back into the game in the 37th minute when Henrikh Mkhitaryan drilled in a low shot that Kepa Arrizabalaga - the world's most expensive goalkeeper making his home debut - could not keep out. Alex Iwobi made it 2-2 four minutes later as Arsenal exploited Chelsea's vulnerability on the flanks. In a tighter second half, neither side could carve out as many chances but Alonso settled the game when Belgium winger Eden Hazard, on as a substitute, carved open the Arsenal defence for the Spanish defender to finish in Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri's first home game in charge.

Brazilian winger Richarlison continued his sparkling start to the season with his third goal in two games as Everton beat Southampton 2-1 in new manager Marco Silva's first home game in charge at Goodison Park. It was the performance as much as the scoreline that will have impressed Everton's supporters who were granted the best possible start when Theo Walcott dinked the ball over the keeper after a clever free-kick link-up between Leighton Baines and Morgan Schneiderlin. Everton added a second when Richarlison headed home Walcott's whipped cross. Southampton responded well after the interval with Danny Ings tapping home from four yards for his first goal for the club on his first start. At the other end, Walcott had a goal ruled out for offside and spurned a late chance when he was free on the keeper.

- Jamie Vardy was sent off on his return but Leicester City still eased early-season pressure on manager Claude Puel with a victory over newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers. Nuno Espirito Santo's side hit the woodwork on three occasions and wasted a couple of gilt-edged chances before succumbing to a 2-0 defeat at the King Power Stadium. An own goal from full-back Matt Doherty and a deflected effort from home debutant James Maddison were enough to secure the points for Leicester - who saw out the closing stages having lost Vardy following an ugly challenge on the unfortunate Doherty.

Harry Kane finally ended his August Premier League goal drought as Tottenham Hotspur beat Fulham 3-1 at Wembley. The England captain, so prolific throughout the rest of the season, had never scored in the opening month of a league campaign, but put that right at the 15th attempt to help Spurs seal the points. Kane struck in trademark fashion in the 77th minute, three minutes after Kieran Tripper had picked up where he left off at the World Cup with a fine free-kick to put his side ahead. Lucas Moura gave the Spurs the lead with a sublime finish just before the break but Aleksandar Mitrovic levelled for the Premier League new boys shortly after the restart. But it was England's World Cup stars that got the job done to end a week where Tottenham announced an extended stay at Wembley on a high.

Callum Wilson scored a stunning goal which helped Bournemouth come from behind in a 2-1 victory at West Ham United to stretch their fine Premier League start to two wins in as many games. Wilson powered his way past four defenders on the hour to cancel out Marko Arnautovic's first-half penalty and defender Steve Cook headed in a 66th-minute winner from a Ryan Fraser free kick. West Ham, in contrast, suffered their second successive defeat after Austria forward Arnautovic, who drilled in his spot kick in the 33rd minute, wasted an excellent chance to double the home side's lead on the stroke of halftime. Wilson was a handful for West Ham's defence all afternoon and piled more misery on the Hammers, having scored a hat-trick in Bournemouth's 4-3 defeat of the London side in August 2015 which was his team's first-ever Premier League win.

- Brazilian midfielder Kenedy missed a penalty with the last kick of the game as Cardiff City picked up their first point since returning to the Premier League. A largely forgettable game had its first noteworthy moment in the 66th minute when Newcastle substitute Isaac Hayden was given a straight red card. The home side failed to take advantage of the extra man and were nearly punished when Cardiff captain Sean Morrison handled Yoshinori Muto's cross deep into injury-time. However, Kenedy's tame effort was easily saved by Neil Etheridge, who became the first goalkeeper to save a penalty in both of his first two Premier League appearances. It completed a miserable day for Kenedy, who failed to complete a single pass during the first half - the first player to do so in a Premier League game since 2010.

Tomato and walnut salad
A lesson in simple, seasonal eating. Wedges of tomato, chunks of cucumber, thinly sliced red onion, coriander or parsley leaves, and perhaps some fresh dill are drizzled with a crushed walnut and garlic dressing. Do consider yourself warned: if you eat this salad in Georgia during the summer months, the tomatoes will be so ripe and flavourful that every tomato you eat from that day forth will taste lacklustre in comparison.
Badrijani nigvzit
A delicious vegetarian snack or starter. It consists of thinly sliced, fried then cooled aubergine smothered with a thick and creamy walnut sauce and folded or rolled. Take note, even though it seems like you should be able to pick these morsels up with your hands, they’re not as durable as they look. A knife and fork is the way to go.
Pkhali
This healthy little dish (a nice antidote to the khachapuri) is usually made with steamed then chopped cabbage, spinach, beetroot or green beans, combined with walnuts, garlic and herbs to make a vegetable pâté or paste. The mix is then often formed into rounds, chilled in the fridge and topped with pomegranate seeds before being served.

Mercer, the investment consulting arm of US services company Marsh & McLennan, expects its wealth division to at least double its assets under management (AUM) in the Middle East as wealth in the region continues to grow despite economic headwinds, a company official said.
Mercer Wealth, which globally has $160 billion in AUM, plans to boost its AUM in the region to $2-$3bn in the next 2-3 years from the present $1bn, said Yasir AbuShaban, a Dubai-based principal with Mercer Wealth.
“Within the next two to three years, we are looking at reaching $2 to $3 billion as a conservative estimate and we do see an opportunity to do so,” said Mr AbuShaban.
Mercer does not directly make investments, but allocates clients’ money they have discretion to, to professional asset managers. They also provide advice to clients.
“We have buying power. We can negotiate on their (client’s) behalf with asset managers to provide them lower fees than they otherwise would have to get on their own,” he added.
Mercer Wealth’s clients include sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and insurance companies among others.
From its office in Dubai, Mercer also looks after Africa, India and Turkey, where they also see opportunity for growth.
Wealth creation in Middle East and Africa (MEA) grew 8.5 per cent to $8.1 trillion last year from $7.5tn in 2015, higher than last year’s global average of 6 per cent and the second-highest growth in a region after Asia-Pacific which grew 9.9 per cent, according to consultancy Boston Consulting Group (BCG). In the region, where wealth grew just 1.9 per cent in 2015 compared with 2014, a pickup in oil prices has helped in wealth generation.
BCG is forecasting MEA wealth will rise to $12tn by 2021, growing at an annual average of 8 per cent.
Drivers of wealth generation in the region will be split evenly between new wealth creation and growth of performance of existing assets, according to BCG.
Another general trend in the region is clients’ looking for a comprehensive approach to investing, according to Mr AbuShaban.
“Institutional investors or some of the families are seeing a slowdown in the available capital they have to invest and in that sense they are looking at optimizing the way they manage their portfolios and making sure they are not investing haphazardly and different parts of their investment are working together,” said Mr AbuShaban.
Some clients also have a higher appetite for risk, given the low interest-rate environment that does not provide enough yield for some institutional investors. These clients are keen to invest in illiquid assets, such as private equity and infrastructure.
“What we have seen is a desire for higher returns in what has been a low-return environment specifically in various fixed income or bonds,” he said.
“In this environment, we have seen a de facto increase in the risk that clients are taking in things like illiquid investments, private equity investments, infrastructure and private debt, those kind of investments were higher illiquidity results in incrementally higher returns.”
The Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, one of the largest sovereign wealth funds, said in its 2016 report that has gradually increased its exposure in direct private equity and private credit transactions, mainly in Asian markets and especially in China and India. The authority’s private equity department focused on structured equities owing to “their defensive characteristics.”
