  BARCELONA PLAYER RATINGS: Marc-Andre Ter Stegen – 7. Played for a much changed team as big players were rested against a team without so much as a goal in their first four games so far in the league this season. Didn’t have a shot to save in the first half and had little to do in the second in front of the 19,530 crowd. AP

  Gerard Pique – 7. First league game of the season and his first touch was to block an early attack. No player on the pitch touched the ball as much as Pique. Cadiz’s record against Barcelona since promotion was two wins and two draws. They could add a defeat to that after an assured performance from Pique and Co. AFP

  Alejandro Balde – 7. Impressive in the first half but taken out in a heavy tackle which should have been a penalty. Came off with 15 minutes to go – indicating that he will start against Bayern Munich on Tuesday. Huge progress. AP

  Gavi – 8. Won the ball back in midfield so effectively. Best player on the pitch in the first half. Assisted Barca’s opening goal then went off a couple of minutes later. Getty

  Sergio Busquets – 8. Played a sweeper role. Booked after 53. Shot over after 62 as Barcelona looked a much bigger threat after a triple substitution. Showed beautiful control and cool moments amid the Cadiz heat. AP

  Frenkie De Jong – 8. Burst forward in an early attack and saw a lot of the ball at the start. Quieter, then scored his first goal of the season to put Barca ahead after 55, moving in to side foot a Gavi ball. Almost got a second before Lewandowski put the ball in. EPA

  Raphinha – 8. Left footer playing on the right, he played very wide. Hit the post after 10 minutes. Booked on 16, then skied a shot over after 21 as Barcelona dominated. Left foot shot went over on 66 after beautiful control, then made the pass which led to the opening goal. Always a threat. EPA

  Memphis Depay – 7. Unable to hit the target from close range after 35. Booked. Not much to show for a side that had 73 per cent of possession. AP

  Ferran Torres – 7. Very lively early on after Barcelona soaked up five minutes of Cadiz pressure. Had one of the three shots on target in the first 10 minutes. Cut in effectively from the left. Needs to be playing if he’s going to play in the World Cup finals for Spain. EPA

  SUBS: Pedri (Gavi 57’) – 8. His technique and speed of thought were immediately obvious as Barca became much more attacking. EPA

  Robert Lewandowski (Depay 57’) – 8. Strength to win a 50/50 with Espinio to start a move, which he finished for Barcelona’s second on 65. Scored six goals in his first five league games for Barca and seven in his last four matches in all competitions. Also set up the third goal. EPA

  Ousmane Dembele (Torres 57’) – 8. Brought more of a threat to his side’s attack. Three key balls. So unpredictable – in a positive way. Scored the fourth. He’s thrilling. EPA

  Ansu Fati (Raphinha 75’) – 7. As Xavi brought on more attacking talent, the youngster tapped in the third. EPA

Four second-half goals steered Barcelona to a routine 4-0 victory at Cadiz on Saturday as they moved top of La Liga.

Frenkie de Jong and Robert Lewandowski put the Catalans in front before a lengthy stop in play due to an illness in the crowd saw the players go off the field before returning to play out the final 10 minutes.

Lewandowski teed up Ansu Fati for the third in the 86th before Ousmane Dembele rounded off the scoring in stoppage time.

Barca have 13 points from five games, one ahead of second-placed Real Madrid who host Mallorca on Sunday.

Coach Xavi named a much-changed side from Barca's 5-1 midweek Champions League triumph over Viktoria Plzen and, one Raphinha shot that hit the post aside, they rarely troubled the hosts in the first period.

That changed, however, 10 minutes after the restart when De Jong fired into an open goal after Cadiz keeper Jeremias Ledesma parried a Gavi cross into the Dutch midfielder's path.

Lewandowski, who came on as a substitute after the goal, continued his fine start to life in Spain with Barca's second 25 minutes from time to put the visitors in command.

As the game reached its conclusion there was a half-hour stoppage to treat the ill fan before play could resume, with Fati and Dembele putting the gloss on the scoreline.
