Tottenham v Brighton FA Cup ratings
-

TOTTENHAM RATINGS: Hugo Lloris – 6. The Frenchman was largely untroubled, though he couldn’t stop Bissouma’s second-half goal. Getty Images -

Cristian Romero – 7. Made his first appearance since November after recovering from a hamstring injury, with Eric Dier sitting out as a precaution. A sound performance on his return. Reuters -

Davinson Sanchez – 7. Solid at the back, Sanchez did what he needed to do to let his teammates play on the front foot for much of the game. Getty Images -

Ben Davies – 6. Didn’t need to do much in the first half with Lamptey so quiet on the wing, though he was on alert as the Brighton man started to force himself into the game. Miscontrolled a ball from Bentacur in the final minutes but able to keep Maupay away. AFP -

Emerson Royal – 7. The Brazilian found the net when his cross-shot was deflected and looped into the goal from a ridiculously tight angle. Lively. AP Photo -

Harry Winks – 6. Continued alongside Hojbjerg in the centre of midfield with Oliver Skipp and Japhet Tanganga sidelined. He followed Moura’s run before shooting straight at Sanchez in the first half. Getty Images -

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg – 7. Played in Kane with a great ball to fire home for Spurs’ second. Controlled things in the middle of the park. PA -

Sergio Reguilon – 6. Forced Sanchez into a low save in the closing stages as Spurs looked to find a fourth. AFP -

Lucas Moura – 6. Had a couple of dribbles but lost possession several times, and ultimately wasn’t as effective and eye-catching as Kane and Son. AP Photo -

Harry Kane – 8. Gifted an early chance after an error by Sanchez but his effort was relatively weak, though he made up for it after being played in by Hojbjerg to break the deadlock. Thought he had a second when he dinked it over Brighton’s defence, but got it later when he bundled home Son’s hard work. PA -

Son Heung-min – 7. Back from injury and did well to catch out Webster, who failed to protect the ball and was dispossessed by the South Korean. Tested Sanchez in the second half, and it was from his charge from the half-way line that Kane bundle home a second. PA -

SUB: Dejan Kulusevski (Moura 68’) – 7. Saw an effort from the edge of the box headed away as he looked to score on his debut after signing on loan from Juventus. AP Photo -

SUB: Steven Bergwijn (Son 69’) – 6. Should have given Spurs their fourth when Brighton were dispossessed and Kulusevski slotted the ball to him, but the Dutchman fired over the bar. AP Photo -

SUB: Joe Rodon (Romero 77’) – N/R. The former Swansea player came off the bench for a run-out against his former manager’s team. Getty Images -

SUB: Rodrigo Bentancur (Winks 77’) – N/R. The former Juventus man made his debut for his new team with Spurs comfortably 3-1 up, and was booked after holding down Bissouma. Reuters -

SUB: Matt Doherty (Royal 87’) – N/R. A late substitution. AFP -

BRIGHTON RATINGS: Robert Sanchez – 5. Incredibly lucky to be let off after seeing his pass fall to the feet of Harry Kane, though the resulting strike was weak. Could do nothing about Kane’s strike seconds later and he likely thought March had Emerson Royal’s run covered before a deflection left the goalkeeper with no chance. AFP -

Tariq Lamptey – 6. Failed to see much of the ball in the first half, though when he did get on the ball there was constant expectation of something happening. Improved in the second half. AFP -

Adam Webster – 4. A lack of urgency from Brighton’s captain saw Son scurry away with the ball in the moments leading to Spurs’ equaliser. Could not handle Son in the build up to Kane’s second of the game. Another mix-up at the back nearly cost Brighton again as Spurs looked to break again in the closing stages. Getty Images -

Lewis Dunk – 5. The 30-year-old played his first minutes since December and came in for the departed Dan Burn. He gave Kane too much space for his first and was then left in the gutter dealing with Son’s charging run into the box. Getty Images -

Marc Cucurella – 6. Part of everything positive for Brighton for much of the game down the left wing. Made a few tackles and looked busy. Reuters -

Yves Bissouma – 7. The Mali international returned to Brighton’s line-up following a stint away playing in the Africa Cup of Nations and had several chances at goal. He was finally rewarded when a superb strike that gave Lloris no chance. Getty Images -

Pascal Gross – 6. Had a couple of shots but largely ineffective, though his second-half corner kick caused confusion in the box and could have ended up anywhere. Getty Images -

Jakub Moder – 6. Unable to keep an effort low as his attempt curled over the. Started the second half in the same fashion, as another shot from the edge of the box went narrowly over the crossbar. Reuters -

Adam Lallana – 6. Brighton’s best player in the first half, adding a sense of calm and constantly trying to make something happen when Spurs looked dominant. Sacrificed at half-time having only just recovered from a hamstring injury. AFP -

Solly March – 6. Likely thought he’d covered his man when he tracked Emerson Royal on a solo sprint from his own half to go out for a corner, only to see the eventual cross-shot deflecting into the goal in a moment of absurdity. AFP -

Neal Maupay – 5. Brighton’s lone striker could have added a terrific goal to the scoresheet had he managed to keep his turn and shot on target following Bissouma’s backheel. Reuters -

SUB: Joel Veltman (Lallana 46’) – 6. Provided some dangerous crosses. Booked for catching Son. Reuters -

SUB: Moises Caicedo (March 61’) – 6. The 20-year-old played his first minutes since being recalled from his loan spell at Beerschot. PA -

SUB: Danny Welbeck (Lamptey 70’) – 6. The former Arsenal man tried to make something happen despite being constantly booed by the home crowd. Saw a glancing header force Lloris into an unsteady save. Getty Images -

SUB: Evan Ferguson (Moder 80’) – N/R, The 17-year-old came on with 10 minutes to go. Getty Images
