Al Jazira got their title defence off to a perfect start with a 2-0 victory over Al Dhafra in their opening game in the Adnoc Pro League.

Abdullah Ramadan opened the scoring in the first half and Joao Victor doubled the lead with an assist from Ali Mabkhout at the Mohamed bin Zayed stadium on Friday.

Jazira ended the game with 10 men when Bruno de Oliveira was sent off for a second booking three minutes from time.

Elsewhere, Laba Kodjo found the net twice as Al Ain returned with a 3-1 win over Khorfakkan at the Saqr bin Mohammad al Qassimi Stadium.

The visitors broke the deadlock in the 37th minute when Bandar Al Ahbabi sent a low cross for Kodjo to strike the first of his two goals.

That advantage was quickly erased when Ismail Al Hammadi dribbled past the Al Ain defence to find the net two minutes later.

Al Ain regained the lead from a Laba spot kick in the 72nd minute before Kouame Autonne sealed the game two minutes from time.

Ramiro Benetti struck in added time to earn Al Wasl a 1-0 away win against Baniyas and Sharjah clinched a similar victory over Kalba, courtesy of Bernard Duarte's strike.

Real estate tokenisation project

Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.

The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.

Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.

How the bonus system works

The two riders are among several riders in the UAE to receive the top payment of £10,000 under the Thank You Fund of £16 million (Dh80m), which was announced in conjunction with Deliveroo's £8 billion (Dh40bn) stock market listing earlier this year.

The £10,000 (Dh50,000) payment is made to those riders who have completed the highest number of orders in each market.

There are also riders who will receive payments of £1,000 (Dh5,000) and £500 (Dh2,500).

All riders who have worked with Deliveroo for at least one year and completed 2,000 orders will receive £200 (Dh1,000), the company said when it announced the scheme.
