Al Wahda kick off new Adnoc Pro League season in style with win over Al Arooba

Abu Dhabi club put four past Al Orooba with twin braces for Joao Pedro and Omar Khribin

Al Wahda kicked off the Adnoc Pro League season with a thumping win over promoted Al Orooba while Ajman and Shabab Al Ahli also registered victories.

A brace each for Joao Pedro and Omar Khribin set Al Wahda on their way to a 4-0 win at the Fujairah Stadium.

Pedro opened the scoring on 12 minutes before Khribin doubled the advantage on 25. Pedro's second goal just before the break effectively sealed victory before Khribin put the finishing touch on a fine team performance with his second on 59 minutes.

Ajman got their campaign up and running with goals from Yorleys Mena and Mohamed Firas (2) securing a comfortable 3-0 win over Al Nasr.

Majed Hassan's 62nd-minute goal for Shabab Al Ahli settled their match away to Emirates.

There are four games on Friday as champions Al Jazira host Al Dhafra and Al Ain travel to Khorfakkan in 7.15pm kick offs.

In the two 8pm games, Sharjah host Ittihad Kalba and champions Al Jazira last season's runners-up Baniyas welcome Al Wasl.
