PHILADELPHIA // Donovan McNabb passed for 290 yards and two touchdowns as the Philadelphia Eagles kept their play-off hopes alive with a 30-10 rout of the Cleveland Browns on Monday.
Philadelphia (8-5-1) moved to within a half-game of Dallas, Tampa Bay and Atlanta in the chase for an NFC wild card spot with the victory.
The Browns (4-10), who were dominated throughout, have now lost four successive games.
McNabb was left out of the Eagles side for the 36-7 defeat by Baltimore three weeks ago but since then, he has completed 72 of 104 passes for 741 yards, seven touchdowns and one interception in the last three games.
"He is playing confident, he is being aggressive with the ball and he's managing the game very well," the Philadelphia coach Andy Reid said.
"He's doing all the things he needs to do to be successful right now."
McNabb wound up 26-for-35 and tossed touchdown passes to Kevin Curtis and Greg Lewis, while David Akers kicked three field goals.
"I tried not to let [being left out[ affect me," McNabb said. "I don't I have to prove anything. In my 10-year career, my body of work speaks for itself.
Jason Avant had five receptions for 101 yards-his first career 100-yard game for the Eagles, while Asante Samuel scored on a 50-yard interception return on a Ken Dorsey pass in the second quarter.
The Browns could not muster an offensive touchdown, with Brandon McDonald's 24-yard interception off back-up quarterback Kevin Kolb's pass their lone touchdown in the fourth quarter after the Eagles already led 30-3.
"Our guys tried but I don't think we have enough ammunition to match up with them," the Cleveland coach Romeo Crennel said.
The Eagles still have to win their final two games, at Washington and at home against Dallas, and need Atlanta or Tampa Bay to lose one of their remaining two games to grab a play-off berth.
After three straight wins, however, the Eagles appear rejuvenated.
"We are a very, very confident group and we're looking forward to this next game," said Eagles safety Brian Dawkins, who set a team record by playing his 181st game with Philadelphia.

The Al Burda Festival is a celebration of Islamic art and culture, featuring talks, performances and exhibitions. Organised by the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development, this one-day event opens with a session on the future of Islamic art. With this in mind, it is followed by a number of workshops and “masterclass” sessions in everything from calligraphy and typography to geometry and the origins of Islamic design.
