  KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS RATINGS: Sunil Narine – 5. Unusually vanilla with the ball, and fell cheaply to Khaleel Ahmed when opening the batting. Sportzpics for BCCI

  Shubman Gill – 8. The task was not the toughest he will ever face, but he was all class, making 70 not out of 62 balls. Sportzpics for BCCI

  Varun Chakravarthy – 7. What a turnaround from his struggles in his lone IPL match to date. A six off the last ball he sent down dented his figures. Sportzpics for BCCI

  David Warner – 7. Not quite at his fluent best, but was just warming up when he chipped up a soft caught and bowled to Chakravarthy. Sportzpics for BCCI

  Manish Pandey – 7. The best of Hyderabad’s batsmen as he made 51 in 38 balls. He fell to an odd dismissal, caught and bowled by a high Russell full toss. Sportzpics for BCCI

  Wriddhiman Saha – 5. His absent-minded run out was emblematic of an out of sorts batting display. Difficult to believe he made as much as 30, given his struggles. Sportzpics for BCCI

  Rashid Khan – 7. More of a threat than in the first match, and it might have been closer had his lbw shout early in Morgan’s innings been upheld. Sportzpics for BCCI

  Khaleel Ahmed – 6. Returning to the country where he made his international debut for India, he gave his side reason to believe by bouncing out Narine, but it proved to be false hope. Sportzpics for BCCI

Shubman Gill and Pat Cummins starred with bat and ball respectively to help Kolkata Knight Riders beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets in the Indian Premier League on Saturday.

Opening batsman Gill made an unbeaten 70 off 62 balls and shared a match-winning 92-run, fourth-wicket stand with England's Eoin Morgan (42 not out) as Kolkata scored 145-3 off 18 overs in the chase.

Hyderabad were earlier restricted to 142-4 after David Warner elected to bat first. Australia quick Cummins (1-14) claimed the key wicket of Jonny Bairstow in his second over and tied down the Hyderabad batsmen.
