Rahul Tripathi with the bat, and Andre Russell with the ball combined to take Kolkata Knight Riders to a 10-run win over Chennai Super Kings in Abu Dhabi.

After being promoted to open the innings in place of Sunil Narine, Tripathi hit a breezy 81 to take Kolkata to 167 from their 20 overs.

Chennai had looked well set in the run chase, with Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu taking their side to 99-1 in 12 overs.

They faltered thereafter, and Russell stifled Chennai with a miserly two-over spell at the end of the innings to restrict them to 157-5.
