NEWCASTLE // Andy Carroll scored his first Premier League goal to rescue a point for Newcastle. The home side took the lead when Michael Owen steered home a low left-footed shot from just inside the box in the 19th minute. Craig Bellamy levelled against his former employers in the 29th minute when he latched onto a clever ball from Scott Parker and lifted his shot over Shay Given. Just before half-time, Mark Noble's shot was parried by Given and Bellamy hit the rebound at the side-netting. But ten minutes after the break, West Ham got their second, with Carlton Cole finishing from close range. However, Carroll headed home Damien Duff's 78th-minute cross to grab a point.
