BOSTON // Tom Brady, who has been hobbled by a foot injury this summer, said that he expects to be ready for the New England Patriots' season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sept 7. A two-time Super Bowl MVP and last season's league MVP, Brady has missed the club's first three pre-season games, all three ending in defeat for the Patriots.
"If I don't play [tomorrow against the New York Giants], then I'll be ready for Kansas City," Brady said. Brady, who threw a single-season record 50 touchdowns last year in leading the Patriots to a 16-0 regular season, said he is feeling fine despite the injury. "I'm feeling very good. I was wishing I could play last week and it didn't happen," Brady said. "It will be the same thing this week. I'm hoping I'm out there and if I'm not, I'm not. I'm trying to get better as fast as I can, and in the ways I know how; it's been making improvements, there is no doubt about it."
