Rafael Benitez picked up a trophy in his first game as the Inter Milan coach on Saturday night when they defeated Roma 3-1 in the Italian Super Cup final. The Spaniard took over from Jose Mourinho in the summer after leaving Liverpool, the English Premier League side, and enjoyed a winning start as two goals from Samuel Eto'o saw them come from behind to lift the trophy. "I'm happy because we conceded a goal and then showed character," Benitez said. "This is a trophy for our fans and for the club, we did really well. It's the first official game for us and it was too hot, it wasn't easy.
"For me [the main thing] was the team's reaction after conceding a goal." John-Arne Riise gave Roma the lead in the 21st minute, but Inter levelled four minutes before the break as Goran Pandev scored from close range after capitalising on a loose pass from Mirko Vucinic, the Roma striker. Eto'o put Inter in front 20 minutes from time as he got on the end of Diego Milito's centre, before adding his second and Inter's third in the closing stages.
