Jay Feely booted a 48-yard field goal that just cleared the crossbar with five seconds to play as Arizona held off Dallas for a 27-26 NFL victory.
In a Christmas Day contest between two teams already eliminated from playoff contention, Dallas rallied from 18 points down to take a 26-24 lead when Stephen McGee, playing in his first NFL game, threw 45 yards to Miles Austin for a touchdown with 1:46 remaining.
McGee, a second-year pro, came in after Cowboys starter Jon Kitna left with a hip injury late in the first half.
Veteran Kitna had been the starter for Dallas since Tony Romo broke his collarbone almost two months ago. Kitna had run seven yards to the two-yard line and thrown a fourth-down touchdown pass to Jason Witten just prior to departing to the locker room for treatment.
Arizona responded as rookie John Skelton, facing fourth-and-15 from the Cardinals' 19 yard line, threw 26 yards to fellow rookie Max Komar to put the Cardinals into field goal range.
Dallas had fallen behind 14-0 when Kitna had interceptions returned for touchdowns on the Cowboys' first two possessions.
