Asamoah Gyan
The league's leading scorer in each of his three seasons, the Al Ain striker continues to find the net at an incredible rate. Having moved to the UAE in 2011, originally on loan, from Sunderland of the English Premier League, Gyan scored 22 times in his debut season to lead Al Ain to a first championship in eight years. They moved quickly to secure his services on a permanent basis. In his second season, he scored 31 goals to carry Al Ain to a second successive top-flight title, retaining the Golden Boot and becoming the first player to pass the 30-goal mark in a single season. Last year, as Al Ain struggled, Gyan still prospered to bag 29 league goals. Add to that his winner in the President's Cup final and his 12 goals to lead the Asian Champions League charts. Signed a contract extension this summer, which will keep him in the Garden City until 2018.
Sebastian Tagliabue
In his UAE debut season, the Al Wahda forward was even more prolific than Gyan had been. The Argentine, signed last summer from Al Shabab in Saudi Arabia, began slowly, but spearheaded the club's surprise rise to finish as runners-up to Al Ahli. Scored 28 goals in 25 league matches, bettered only by Gyan.
Omar Abdulrahman
By his standards, 2013/14 was a poor season for the Al Ain playmaker. However, strong performances towards its conclusion culminated in a superb display in the President’s Cup final, while he maintained his form through the summer to edge his club closer to Asian Champions League glory. Will shine this campaign.
