The champions Al Wahda will play a friendly against the German side Hamburg on January 4 at the Al Maktoum Stadium in Dubai, the home of the Pro League club Al Nasr. Kick off will be at 8.45pm. Hamburg, lying ninth in the Bundesliga standings, will train in Dubai for six days from January 2.
Gallo to observe new charges at Al Ain
Alexandre Gallo, the new coach of Al Ain, is expected to watch the team play when they take on Al Shabab at 6.15pm tonight in the Garden City. Al Ain this week fired Abdulhameed al Mishtiki after the nine-time champions fell to ninth position in the league, two points outside the relegation zone.
Asian Cup squad head off to Oman
The 23 Pro League players chosen to represent the country at the Asian Cup in Qatar will assemble tomorrow to travel to Oman for a training camp. The squad will return to the UAE in time for friendly matches with Syria on January 2 and with Australia on January 5. Both matches will be played in Al Ain.
