Al Nasr give Al Ain a humbling in Arabian Gulf Cup

Al Nasr shocked Al Ain when they beat the Garden City club 3-2 in the Arabian Gulf Cup last night. Ahmed Khamis scored twice and Abdelaziz Barrada once to give the Dubai side three points and a second win in as many games.

Al Ain, who have just three points from three games, are second from bottom in Group B.

Goals from Douglas and Danilo Asprilla helped save face for Al Ain, who were 3-0 down at one point.

Elsewhere, Al Wasl won their third cup game on the trot, beating defending champions Al Wahda 2-0. Both goals at Zabeel Stadium, from Helder Barbosa and Fabio de Lima, came in the first half as Al Wasl moved to the top of Group A on nine points. Al Wahda are second from bottom with just one point.

Barbosa, the Portuguese winger who moved from AEK Athens only recently, opened his account for the Dubai side with a header off a Hazza Salem cross on the half-hour mark. De Lima made it 2-0 six minutes later. Emirates club secured their first victory in all competitions this season with a 4-0 win over Hatta. Al Hussain Saleh scored twice, and Sebastian Sacha and Khaled Khamis struck once each in Ras Al Khaimah, giving Emirates three points in Group A.
