Ajman's new signing Driss Fettouhi, the Moroccan midfielder, says he consulted a number of his compatriots who have played in the UAE before agreeing to join.

Fettouhi, 23, who captained his country at last summer's Olympics, has signed for two and a half years, and replaces Abdessamad Oujaki, his fellow Moroccan who failed to make an impact at the Rashid bin Saeed Stadium.

"I came to Ajman for a specific purpose, which is to gain experience and success in a new country," Fettouhi said.

"I don't care if other Moroccans have been successful with Ajman or not. I agreed without hesitation to accept an offer from a team that has a significant presence in the league. I hope to be an important addition this season."

Elsewhere, Al Ahli have completed the signing of Adnan Hussain from Baniyas on a four-year deal, although he may stay with the Abu Dhabi club until the end of the season.
