MADRID // Atletico Madrid were again in the goals on Saturday, demolishing Recreativo Huelva 4-0, their second four-goal home win of the season to follow the 3-0 midweek away thrashing of PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League. But the coach Javier Aguirre insisted the impressive victory was not as one-sided as the scoreline suggests. Florent Sinama-Pongolle scored a brace against his former club, with Sergio Aguero and Nuno Maniche also netting.
Aguirre feels there is still room for improvement. "The match wasn't as easy as it may have seemed," the Mexican said. "We have a great offensive potential and if we're balanced at the back we can be a strong team both at home and on the road. "In general terms I liked my team's play. We controlled the ball well, but at times we were missing that balance that I mentioned previously. Sometimes we made mistakes in the midfield and that is something we have to correct quickly."
Aguirre was quick to rule out any talk of winning the title. "In week three there aren't any candidates for anything," he added. "It's too early to say those kinds of things." * PA Sport
