The disappearance of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 more than two years ago has gripped the world. With the aviation industry connecting more parts of the world than ever, how could it be possible for a modern airliner to vanish into thin air? Despite the recovery of some parts of the plane in the Indian Ocean, the search has been stalled.
This month, however, the FBI revealed that it has recovered data from the captain’s personal computer showing that he had practised a one-way flight across the Indian Ocean. The data supports a previously-dismissed theory that captain Zaharie Shah deliberately sabotaged the plane as part of an elaborate suicide mission.
While it seems that many in the international community are resigned to leaving the MH370 case unsolved, this new information – and the FBI involvement – suggests that authorities might know more about the disappearance than they have let on. The truth is out there; it’s just a matter of time before it comes to light.
