Good school can be affordable

A parent does not have to pay Dh130,000 a year for their child to succeed (New Dubai school with fees of Dh130,000 eyes path to Cambridge, Oxford and Harvard, June 21).

With a good supportive family life, quality teaching, good curriculum and being surrounded by positive influence and encouragement, a child can achieve.

Even people in finance can fall victim to scams

This is in reference to the article on a senior banker who was mis-sold a long-term savings plan (Even a financial officer can fall for a predatory savings scheme, June 23).

While many of us continue to face financial constraints, some still seem to get tempted by such scams.

Most of us are trying pay off loans and debts, while others are here to splurge and show off what they have. When is everyone going to wake up?
