National Sports Day will be a showcase for healthy living, participation and fun. Wednesday will see events across the country that aim to bring the community together in the pursuit of creating a healthy society. Organisers have structured the day in a way that highlights the benefits of sport without the pressure of competition.

Sport is one of the great gateways to a healthy lifestyle. With National Sports Day, the Government is creating a foundation against disease, poor diet and other health liabilities. The driving principle behind the event is to encourage the country to be healthier year round, not just on the day itself.
