Dubai is constantly proving that nothing is impossible, and the city is now organising a race through ice during peak desert summer.

The DXB Snow Run will allow UAE residents between the ages of 18 and 62 to race through the snow at Ski Dubai. The first-of-its-kind event will take place on Friday, August 14, with tickets costing Dh189.

The three-kilometre race is organised by the Dubai Sports Council and Ski Dubai. UAE residents can expect to navigate five laps around Ski Dubai in -4°C temperatures and be a part of history as this is the first such running competition taking place in a desert in the summer.

The DXB Snow Run is part of Dubai Sports Council’s (DSC) Ice Sports Week, which will take place at Ski Dubai on Friday, August 14 and Saturday, August 15, with participants also able to take part in skiing and snowboarding competitions.

Winners and participants will receive commemorative medals that honour the heroes at the frontline of Dubai's battle against Covid-19.

The medals pay homage to the service of Dubai Police and Dubai Civil Defence, as well as the staff of Dubai Health Authority, and the first responders of the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services.
