Dubai takes up the Tough Mudder challenge - in pictures

The endurance event series where runners negotiate mud and a variety of obstacles comes to Dubai

The Dubai Fitness Challenge may be over for another year, but some hardy souls in the emirate put themselves through the wringer once more for this year's Tough Mudder challenge.

Hundreds of adults - and "mini mudders" - climbed, crawled and carried themselves through mud and 28 obstacles at the Hamdan Sports Complex in Dubai on Friday.

The race, sponsored by du is designed to test competitors' physical strength, stamina, and mental grit. It is a team-oriented challenge with no winners, finisher's medals, or clocks to race against.
