Got a long flight coming up? If you're travelling with Emirates, you can now get your entertainment schedule set up so that it’s ready to be loaded on your seat-back screen, even before you’ve checked in.

The Emirates app now allows passengers to view and select entertainment set to be screened on upcoming flights. Over 4,000 channels are listed and passengers can scroll through the movies, TV shows, podcasts and music tracks, adding their favourites to a playlist.

Once on board, passengers can connect to Wi-Fi, input the relevant seat number and press play. The personalised playlist will then automatically load.

The function is available on more than 100 of Emirates' Boeing 777 aircraft and will soon be rolled out across the rest of the fleet.

Tim Clark, president of the airline, said the latest functionality aims to elevate customer experience, even before travellers step on board.

Emirates' in-flight entertainment system has been ranked the best in the world by Skytrax World Airline Awards for 14 years running. It offers shows and movies in 44 languages and adds over 100 films to the system every month.
It also has beginner's language courses so you can brush up on basic phrases before you land in your chosen destination.
