‘Dubai is proof that it's possible to travel again’: Influencer Nas Daily says UAE is 'safest country' after recent trip

The video-maker, born Nuseir Yassin, is one of the first tourists to return to the emirate as travel restrictions are lifted

Influencer Nas Daily is known for his quick travel explainers on Instagram and Facebook, although his tourism videos had been put on ice amid the coronavirus pandemic. However, as restrictions begin to be lifted, he is now able to travel again, and he has made the UAE his first port of call, becoming one of the first tourists to visit Dubai since the emirate opened on July 7.

"It is one of the first countries in the world to open for tourism safely," he announces in a three-minute video, which has been posted to his social media channels.

He then takes viewers through the step-by-step process of travelling to Dubai.

The 28-year-old video-maker, born Nuseir Yassin, clarifies that the Emirates flight he took to travel to Dubai could only be 80 per cent full, and also highlights the personal protective equipment worn by cabin crew, saying: "The crew on the plane is protected and you are, too." Passengers are given a mask and gloves to wear for the duration of the flight, he says.

He also touches on the experience of undergoing a Covid-19 test, which he and partner, Alyne Tamir, got for free upon landing in Dubai.

Yassin then hones in on how his hotel room had been sanitised prior to his arrival, as well as the fact temperature checks, masks and social distancing are obligatory in public spaces, including malls.

In the video, the couple can be seen ticking off a number of Dubai tourist must-do activities, including Flyboarding and visiting Ski Dubai, The Green Planet and The Dubai Fountain. He also explores natural hot spots the Dubai desert and Hatta Dam.

"At the desert there are no tourists," he says, over footage of a deserted stretch of sandy dunes. "You can get a car, a driver, a mask and you will have the best experience ever ... this is totally safe."

He then goes on to explore Hatta, saying: "You can see the most breathtaking views without worrying about getting the virus because here there are no humans, so there is no Covid."

The speech is over footage of himself and Tamir kayaking and cycling in Hatta. In his video, it is a quiet day and there are no tourists around, but visitors should still take the necessary precautions to try and ensure they don't catch, or spread, the coronavirus while visiting popular tourist destinations, indoors or outdoors.

His video does clarify that the UAE is not Covid-19-free. He says: "Yes, there is still Covid-19, unfortunately, and we still have to be careful. But this country understands that Covid is here to stay and we need to learn to live with it.

"Dubai is proof that it's possible to travel again, we just need to put tourism second and safety first," he concludes.

In the caption, Yassin writes: "I am talking to you now from Dubai! I flew here exactly when the country opened up and I was shocked at how the whole process was. From the plane to airport to hotel, everyone is trying to stay safe and stay open.

"The more we stay closed, the more people will suffer, especially in the tourism industry. This is why I made this step-by-step video to show you how tourism could look in the future."

About 24 hours before he posted a video sharing the highlights from his time in Dubai, Yassin shared a photo of himself and Tamir both wearing traditional Emirati clothing.

"I travelled the world exploring other people’s cultures. I think it’s time to explore mine," he wrote. "Hello from the United Arab Emirates."

Yassin is Arab-Israeli and was born in Arraba, Israel, to Muslim parents. When explaining his heritage in a past video, he said: "I am a Palestinian-Israeli."
