Rooftop Rhythms opens its sixth season tonight with a poetry open-mic featuring established and emerging spoken word artists from the community, as well as music from DJ Allad (pictured). Register to attend the film screenings tomorrow at Cinema Space. The Sound of Music is the classic 1965 musical starring Julie Andrews as Maria and Christopher Plummer as Captain von Trapp. It tells the story of the von Trapp family during the Second World War. The Tree of Wooden Clogs is a 1978 Italian film directed by Ermanno Olmi about four families working for a landowner and the impoverished lives they live, close to nature, with one family making a deep sacrifice so their child can get an education.
