From classic cars to super machines: more than 1,200 models on display at Riyadh Motor Show - in pictures

Car enthusiasts in Saudi Arabia have been flocking to the Riyadh Motor Show, which is taking place in the capital this week.

More than 1,200 cars are on display at the show, from classic models to the latest supercars.

Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan were among the first visitors to the show, which is being held at Janadriyah village in the Saudi capital.

As well as the vehicles on display, there have been a number of live stunts and performances, including shows from members of the US Police Academy.

On Saturday, the futuristic electric car known as Car 2030 was auctioned off for Sr3,204,500 (Dh 3,138,744). The black and green supercar was first unveiled by president of Riyadh Season and chairman of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority Turki Al-Asheikh.

The car was manufactured specifically for the show, and is the only one of its kind in the world.
