Ferrari fans have been having a good week, shouting and screaming as they did when Charles Leclerc crossed the line first at the Italian Grand Prix, giving the manufacturer its first home win since 2019.

Brand aficionados have got something else to be cheery about now though as word has just drifted out from Maranello that a new 812 GTS has been revealed.

And the spec on this rather appealing convertible is impressive.

This new release is what Ferrari refers to as a Spider version of its 812 Superfast model (which The National will be reviewing in the upcoming weeks).

The new kid in town is powered by a 6.5-litre V12 engine, which will allow this 1.6 tonne vehicle to hit 100kph in under three seconds. If you want to go up to 200kph, you’ll just have to wait 8.3 seconds though.

The 812 GTS is the first Spider model in 50 years – the last was the 1969 365 GTS4, also known as the Daytona Spider because of Ferrari’s victory in the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona race.

No word on what it’ll cost yet, or when it’s likely to arrive in the Middle East, but estimates suggest it’ll eclipse what you’ll have to pay for the 812 Superfast, which is retailing at Dh1,264,000 in the UAE.
