Dubai-based couturier Rami Al Ali presented his haute couture show for the autumn/winter 2017-18 season, in Paris earlier in July.
Comprising lavishly worked gowns in shades of vivid red, elegant nudes and dusky pinks, the pieces involved complex pleating and intricate bandage-style wrapping. Asymmetric folds of satin fell from shoulders and hips, while ostrich feathers and the light-as-air beadwork that Al Ali is so known for made for a sophisticated collection that focused on surface adornment as evening wear.
For the presentation, the designer teamed up with Christian Louboutin, who dressed the models in Crystal Queen, Colankle and Choca shoes, all in nude. As a finishing touch, the manicure was in Louboutin nail polish in Tutulle.
