Beachfront villa living on a Dubai island is usually associated with Palm Jumeirah and its fronds lined with a variety of property styles.
But if it is island living you crave (the Palm is an island of sorts), and you want to be located somewhere else, there is another option - and it doesn't involve heading all the way out into the sea to the World Islands where a boat (or ownership of a helicopter) is required to reach the mainland and civilisation.
The alternative is Pearl Jumeirah, the island made from reclaimed land close to Al Mina. It is best known for the Nikki Beach Resort where the young and fashionable come to party in the endless sunshine - its most recent celeb being Manchester United footballer Paul Pogba.
This isn't just a party island, though, as it also contains plots for a few hundred villas and scope for buyers to build their ideal beachfront abode.
One such property has just come on to the market and actually offers ideal surroundings after a long day, and night, of partying it up over at Nikki.
For this villa, priced at Dh25 million with LuxuryProperty.com, contains its own spa in the basement complete with a relaxation room, sauna, Jacuzzi and ambient lighting, plus a meditation and yoga room and aerobics studio. Residential sales in Dubai have picked up after a difficult couple of years, according to a new report from Egyptian investment bank EFG Hermes.
It said all market segments (luxury, affordable and budget) recorded higher transaction values on an annual basis in October.
Average selling prices across all segments climbed 3.8 per cent month-on-month to reach Dh1,315 per square foot.
However, rapidly rising supply in 2019 could see prices continue their general decline, Propertyfinder said in their new report.

Zakat definitions
Zakat: an Arabic word meaning ‘to cleanse’ or ‘purification’.
