3 Plastic pachyderm
Charles and Ray Eames designed the simple plywood elephant seat way-back-when, but it never went into production. This plastic version is now being manufactured by Vitra. It is intended for children but would make a quirky addition to any room.

4 Comfy shades
Made from wool and silk aubusson, the Miss Shady Gold cushion is the brainchild of renowned British designer Tara Bernerd, founder of the London-based Tara Bernerd & Partners. Bernerd’s collaboration with The Rug Company, which began in 2008, has resulted in the creation of the Miss Shady collection of handwoven tapestry cushions, the glam Tattoo range of velvet cushions and a number of wool and silk rugs. We love the cool-as-you-like Miss Shady Gold, which will look fab sitting on a neutral sofa.

5 Be cool getting warm
With temperatures dropping slightly, it might be a good time to invest in one of Dyson’s bladeless fan heaters. The AM05 also works as a cooler, so you won’t have to store it away once the summer sets in again.
