The Hot List: retro tea time

1 Turkish delight

Online store Anjelique.me is a treasure trove of Turkish-inspired design and fashion. Founders Inci Malik and Ebru Berge were inspired by Istanbul's emerging pop culture to create a collection that is fashion-forward and eclectic, but also embraces high quality materials and craftsmanship.

2 Old school charm

We love these retro-style vinyl floor tiles from Zazous. They're made in France and are durable, self-adhesive and comfortable to walk on. We'd use them to liven up a hallway, but they'd make an eye-catching addition to any room.

3 Blissful shower, high-tech style

Proving that you can never have too much technology in the home, Hansgrohe has launched the RainBrain, a digital control centre for the shower. The mini computer controls shower operation, jet types and temperature, as well as any light sources integrated into the shower and music selection, through a Bluetooth-compatible smartphone or media player. You can preset all your preferences with the help of a "shower butler". Showering may never be quite the same again.

4 Chilled out

Royal VKB has harnessed the natural cooling properties of terra-cotta to create its stylish Water Carafe. Cooling occurs by natural evaporation through the pores of the terra-cotta, so you can leave your carafe in the sun and it'll still serve up a refreshing drink. A silicone base will also prevent the carafe from scratching your table.

The Ikea part sale ends tomorrow, so you've still got time to pick up a bargain or two. While you're there, check out the Ikea PS 2012 Easy chair, which looks great, is suitable for indoor and outdoor use, and requires zero maintenance.

FFP EXPLAINED

What is Financial Fair Play?
Introduced in 2011 by Uefa, European football’s governing body, it demands that clubs live within their means. Chiefly, spend within their income and not make substantial losses.

What the rules dictate?
The second phase of its implementation limits losses to €30 million (Dh136m) over three seasons. Extra expenditure is permitted for investment in sustainable areas (youth academies, stadium development, etc). Money provided by owners is not viewed as income. Revenue from “related parties” to those owners is assessed by Uefa's “financial control body” to be sure it is a fair value, or in line with market prices.

What are the penalties?
There are a number of punishments, including fines, a loss of prize money or having to reduce squad size for European competition – as happened to PSG in 2014. There is even the threat of a competition ban, which could in theory lead to PSG’s suspension from the Uefa Champions League.
