Countdown to Index
Over at H&H, we're gearing up for the four most important days on the Dubai design calendar. The Index International Design Exhibition will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from October 22 to 25, alongside the inaugural Festival of Interior Design.
The biggest and busiest design exhibition in the region, Index attracts hundreds of exhibitors from around the world and can be a great source of inspiration for anyone with even the vaguest interest in design. This year, the exhibition has been carved up into a number of sub-shows focusing on specific segments of the industry. There's Index Furnishings, Kitchen and Bathroom, Lighting, Outdoor Living, Textiles and Inretail, which means that it'll be easier to find what you're looking for - anyone who has visited the show in the past will be familiar with the pain of traipsing round all ten exhibition halls in search of a particular product, and never finding it. In addition to exhibiting companies, there'll be a series of innovative features on the show floor, including an Artist's Avenue, an exciting lighting display and a green design feature. Non trade visitors can only get in to the show on the 22nd and entrance costs Dh100.
We're also excited about the inaugural Festival of Interior Design, which is organised by the Dubai-based Association of Professional Interior Designers. The festival was created to raise awareness of design in this part of the world and includes, among other things, retail events, a congress, design workshops, an exhibition at the Jamjar and a gala dinner.
