Tall orders at the St Regis
There are a number of spots in the capital that offer amazing views of the emirate. The St Regis Abu Dhabi is one of these, and we are excited to hear that the helipad sunset supper series is back for a second time. If you’re looking for something a little different to do for guests and visitors or have a special occasion coming up on your calendar, this could be for you. The hotel is once again inviting the general public to enjoy supper 255 metres in the air. What a way to see the city and be waited on and fed for 90 minutes. The rooftop dining experiences will take place once a month during winter, with the first to be held sky-high tonight. The others are scheduled for November 10 and December 8. For details or to book, email restaurants.abudhabi@stregis.com, we have done it and know you’ll love it.
Terrace vibes in the capital
The UAE is a bit like a flower ready to blossom at the moment, which means terrace season is here. Our inboxes have been filling up with notifications of openings and re-openings of many of the region's outdoor areas. One of the most recent to re-launch is Balcon Terrace at the capital's Southern Sun hotel. So Cho in the capital has also recently re-opened its alfresco area, which from its Souk Qaryat Al Beri location has views across the creek to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. We can envisage spending many a weekend evening during the next few months enjoying the waterside breeze or poolside chill out vibes at either of these locations. Book two hours of bliss
It’s about that time – when everyone starts coming out of hibernation after the summer, and we’re liking the sound of Xclusive Yachts’ new cruise, which takes in the interior of the Palm Jumeirah. We think that spending an evening enjoying their new dinner cruise sounds like a relaxing idea. You’re sure to get plenty of Instagram-worthy photos shots of the Burj Al Arab, the royal palaces and Atlantis The Palm during the two-hour journey, all the while enjoying a five-course international menu. The cruise boards at Palm Views East Marina from 8pm, with adults costing Dh300. To book, call 04 457 3185.
‘On tour’ at Cafe Milano
Italian food lovers in the capital will be excited to hear that Cafe Milano at the Four Seasons Abu Dhabi now has its own weekend brunch. That’s right, and to change things up a bit, each sitting is themed according to a different region in Italy, featuring specialties from the town or city nominated. Every Friday, diners will enjoy a “seaside brunch” with stops including Puglia, Amalfi, Capri and Portofino, while on Saturday’s Brunch Italiano will be a four-hour Mediterranean feast. Prices start at Dh190 (excluding taxes) and reservations can be made by emailing guestservices@cafemilano.ae.
