World Pizza Day is celebrated annually on February 9, which means today is the perfect day to order in your favourite pie.

To mark the occasion, a number of venues in the UAE have launched deals. Here are some ways to celebrate the dish in all its cheesy, thin-or-thick-crusted glory, without even having to leave the house.

800Pizza

The restaurant, famous for its thin, crispy and light wood-fired pizzas has a deal worth your dirhams. Those ordering directly from the website, will get a diavola pepperoni pizza or a Margherita pizza for Dh9, along with a regular pizza order. Customers will also get an additional 20 per cent off their first order from the website.

Akiba Dori

Home to Neapolitan-Tokyo pizzas, Akiba Dori is known for some unique creations, and Dubai residents can try one of them out for Pizza Day. The restaurant has partnered with Deliveroo to launch a limited-edition colour wheel pizza, with each quarter a different flavour, perfect for picky eaters. The different flavours are ortolana (vegetable), five cheeses, pepperoni and Margherita. Giving back on the special occasion, every order of the special-edition dish will ensure a pizza is reserved for the rider as well.

For World Pizza Day, those ordering any pinsa (a light Roman-style pizza) directly from the Pinsanity website, will get a Mad-jesty or Doctor Pepperoni Pinsa for an additional Dh9. Mad-jesty is a zesty mix of tomato sauce, fresh basil and Italian mozzarella, while Doctor Pepperoni is loaded with spicy Italian pepperoni. You can also get 20 per cent off on your first order on the website.

LDC Kitchen + Coffee

LDC Kitchen + Coffee is not offering a specific World Pizza Day Deal, but instead presenting an unusual twist on the fast food favourite. The restaurant has a vesuvio pizza (Dh60), which features a lightly fried base topped with tomato sauce, cherry tomatoes, provolone, garlic oil and peperoncino. Traditionalists can indulge in more classic varieties with quirky names, such as the Plain Jane (Margherita) and Fun Guy (mushroom), other pizzas include toppings such as roasted chicken breast, crushed potatoes and jalapenos.
