In the three years since it opened, The Maine Oyster Bar & Grill has become one of the most popular restaurants in Dubai. This week the owners of the brasserie have announced a second opening: The Maine Street Eatery.
Announcing the news on Instagram on January 11, the restaurant will be opening soon in Dubai Studio City.
Founder and managing partner, Joey Ghazal, has described the new opening as "more of a cousin than an exact twin" for the JBR restaurant, found at JBR's DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Dubai — Jumeirah Beach.
"I’ve always had a grander vision for Maine," Ghazal goes on to say in the video, introducing the new restaurant.
What can we expect from The Maine Street Eatery
"It’s always been more of a lifestyle to me than a restaurant. The Maine in Studio City is an opportunity to give the resident of that area more of a casual eatery," Ghazal said of the new opening in the teaser video.
So diners can expect more of a causal dining experience than that offered at the JBR restaurant.
As the name suggests, The Maine Oyster Bar & Grill is known for its seafood selection, with an ever-changing range of oysters for diners to choose from.

As for the interiors, don't expect it to be a carbon copy of The Maine in JBR.
Ghazal said of the decor and feel of The Maine in Studio City, "You’ll know it’s part of the same family but there will be a lot of new things unique to that space".
The new brasserie will be located in Studio One, a new hotel opened by the people behind Media City's Media One hotel. The hotel will also be home to a new Irish Village.
The exact opening date is yet to be announced.
