The drive between Abu Dhabi and Dubai is a funny one. On a good day, the minutes pass quickly and in what seems like no time at all, the Ibn Battuta hotel looms in the distance.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the case last night, when the journey just seemed to drag on and on. My two colleagues and I decided that we'd stop for a break: the car needed petrol and we were also eager to refuel.

Our hopes of finding something vaguely healthy to eat were rapidly fading, until we spotted a Magic Corn cart at the back of the food court. Now I know this is nothing new, but for Dh9 I bought a medium sized tub of chill and lemon soused sweetcorn (pictured above) and it was perfectly nice.

As a stopgap snack, when options are limited, I think that this is a rather good choice. It provides a portion of vegetables, isn't carb heavy and providing that you go easy on the butter, it's relatively low in fat. In short, a tub of corn is much better for you than a burger or bag of potato crisps.
